Our Pastor

 Pastor | Simeon Crass

Pastor Crass told his teacher he wanted to be a pastor in second grade. He didn’t know how to do the job or how much schooling he’d have to finish, but he knew Jesus loved him and he loved Jesus. That knowledge followed him to high school at Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, Wisconsin (graduated 2014). After much encouragement from his high school faculty, he continued on to study to become a pastor at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN (graduated 2018). He finished his studies at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI in the spring of 2022 and was called to serve Peace Lutheran.

Pastor Crass married his wife Jamie (they met in high school) on August 13th, 2021. In September 2023, Pastor and Jamie welcomed their first child, Ava.

He enjoys playing golf, watching football, taking care of his yard and catching some live music with friends. He is proud to call Aiken his home as Peace serves the community by bringing Real Peace to Real People.

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ..." -Romans 5:1

By grace alone. By faith alone. By God's Word alone.

In a nutshell, that's what we believe at Peace. The Bible teaches that men, women, and children are rescued from sin and its effects by the rich and undeserved mercy of God, and that through a heart-level trust in Jesus called faith, forgiveness and real, lasting life become ours. We believe this because it is the clear and bright truth of God's Word. In it we believe we're given the only rule and norm for all life and faith - making us aware of sin, forgiveness in Jesus, and giving us empowerment for Spirit-filled living.

We confess this:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

These words of the Apostles' Creed, along with the Nicene and Athanasian Creed, have served as summaries of Spirit led and scriptural faith since the earliest days of Christianity.

We are proudly this:

Lutheran. We are a part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). Click here to learn more about WELS. To be Lutheran simply means that we accept the scriptural truths that ignited the reformation of the Christian church in the 16th century and led to a renewed focus on the gospel.

As a result we uphold a beautiful view of God's love: that a person is saved by God's grace through faith, apart from works. We confess that God is so powerful and so searching with his love that he is actively working through the gospel in the Word, baptism, and Lord's Supper to save and sustain sinners.
