New Vision: Vocation

(A Sermon Based on Zechariah 4:1-14)

This sermon continues a sermon series that walks through the night visions that Zechariah received from the Lord. It also is walking through the values that this local church holds dear. This sermon examines our church’s vocational life and seeks to empower it through the Spirit in Jesus’ name so that the oil of life flows in our church, in our families, and in our community.

Purpose Empowered

(A Sermon Based on Esther 4)

God had placed Esther at the right place at the right time. He’s done the same for you. Will you answer the call? This is a sermon that examines the place of your purpose, the threat on your purpose, and the power that powers your purpose. This sermon takes a hard look at the purpose God places onto the lives of his people and the purpose God has fulfilled for his people through his Son.

Called

Called

(A Sermon based on Ezekiel 18:21-32)

The roles you play are specifically yours. That means that there isn't someone else who is called to fulfill them. You are called to be your child's parent. You are called to be your boss's employee. You are called to be you.

That being said, even though these hats are specifically yours to wear, they don't always look good on you. There are good and bad ways to wear them, and a big part of the challenge you experience as you try to listen to the callings God has given you is to find out how to wear them correctly. Fortunately, the wearing of hats isn't all about rising up to complicated expectations – it's about living in grace, even when we wear it wrong.
