What is with the women who have stork wings? What does that mean? Why is there a basket? What’s that signify? This sermon works through the meaning of this stunning, bizarre vision of Zechariah. It shows how the vision prefigures the second coming of Christ and how it can impact the lives we live even now.
Peace is in a sermon series examining the night visions that the Lord gave to his prophet Zechariah. Along the way, we have been examining the unique way that God has shaped Peace as a church to be an instrument in his service. Today we examine through this sixth vision our final value that we hold dear as a church: cultural sensitivity. We do that with the prayer that we might love people with the truth and by the truth set people free.
Zechariah saw Satan filling the ear of Joshua, the High Priest, with lies. This vision looks at what those lies were; how we might recognize those same lies in our lives; and how we might live freed of them through Jesus’ forgiveness.
