Why build Peace at all?

Here's a rendering of where our property is headed!

We exist to bring real peace to real people through Jesus Christ. We've now been chasing that mission for over a year and we're just getting started. In pursuit of that mission we've developed a vision to become known region wide as the place where anybody can come to get the straight dish on Jesus. No doctrinal layers to work through. No unclarity. No compromise. Just Jesus and his gospel delivered straight to your soul. We're not saying we've arrived. We're just saying that that's what we're after.

Where is it? Why there?

We've purchased a location at 202 Richland Avenue West in the heart of Downtown Aiken. Over the next few months a very significant construction project will make it our church home. It's a site from which we believe we will become the church that we envision ourselves becoming. We want to be central and we want to be magnetic. That's what the gospel is to us and we want to embody that for our city and our region in our building. That's why we've chosen a location in the geographical center of our city. The building actually stands right on the corner of Newberry Street and Richland Avenue across the street from what looks to become one of Aiken's premiere hotels. We pray that this location positions us to continue to be a church that draws from all over Aiken and even the CSRA. See below for a graphic demonstrating this.

This map comes from the early, early months of our church. Peace from the very beginning has been drawing from all over the CSRA and Aiken. Key: the yellow pin represents the permanent site we are pursuing. The green pins represent people who have expressed serious interest in our church (Many have since joined.). The red pins represent our earliest members.

What will the church be like?

We believe that once it's all said and done that we'll have a signature building in downtown Aiken from which we can preach God's signature gospel. We do mean signature too. We believe the building will be a warm, inviting, eye-catching, and memorable place that will meet the needs of our church and community for years to come. We're planning for an incredible welcome center that will face Richland Ave. along with a beautiful conference room. The building will include a kitchen, Sunday School classrooms, and a gorgeous sanctuary. We are so excited!

This is only the first drawing. We have since tweaked it in some smart and functional ways that we think you will really like!

What is the timeline?

We're actually most of the way through it. We are hoping to have the project complete right around Easter of '17. It's happening fast! Keep checking back here for updates on our project. And if you're so moved, please give to our mission right here designating the gift to the building fund.
